2010 ALBANY PORCELAIN ART CAMP
The 2010 Albany Porcelain Art Camp was held between 11th and 14th April at Camp Quaranup near Albany.  Congratulations go once again to Fran Martin, President, and the Albany Porcelain Art Camp Organising Committee for yet another extremely successful painting camp.

The TutorElephants by Trixie Emerys at this year’s camp were Trixie Emery from Queensland painting African Elephants, Judith Standing from Perth painting Rich Yellow Roses with Cornflowers, Marilyn Barrington from Walpole painting beautiful Red Eared Fire-Tail Finches and Brenda Caelli from Ravensthorpe painting Silver Topped Grass Trees.

  • It was a wonderful camp with new friends made and old friendships rekindled with a lot of learning and laughter.  The wonderful ladies who make this unique event happen are once again to be thanked and congratulated.  Next year will mark their 25th anniversary.  If you have not yet experienced the delights of the Albany Porcelain Art Camp you are missing a truly wonderful event!!

APAT 12TH EXHIBITION & CONVENTION
The Australasian Porcelain Art Teachers of WA hosted APAT's 12th Exhibition and Convention at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle between the 14th-17th October.  It was an amazing event of pure china painting indulgence and Betty Schreck, the Convention President and her team are to be heartily congratulated for staging a magnificent event.

There were many hightlights, but the demonstrations by Filipe Pereira of Portugal were just amazing, as the brush worked before your eyes it was more akin to a magic show than painting!

The demonstrations by Andreas Knobl of Germany were also of the highest quality and Plate by Di CurtinI was fortunate enough to see him bring several iries to life. Not to be overshadowed, our West Australian featured artists Heather Tailor, Judith Standing and Barbara Cronin all produced superb work for the Exhibition.

There were many other artists at the Convention representing all Australian States plus many visitors from Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. This unique event inspired the artist, fostered friendships and was a wonderful showcase for china painting.

Once again sincere congratuations to the organisers.
