Advertising Flyer for ExhibitionAfter the 2020 exhibition had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Porcelain Artists of WA (formerly the WA Guild of China Painters) held its annual exhibition and sale of work on the 1st and 2nd May at the Palms Community Centre in Subiaco.

A large number of hand painted porcelain and glass exhibits, produced by members from both city and country areas, were on display. Supporting the main exhibition tables were a collection of vintage painting and a cash and carry section.

The exhibition theme was “Inspired by Nature” with several very interesting collections designed to reflect the theme. Members were invited to submit collections of up to seven pieces to interpret the theme. Many different painting styles were represented featuring a wide range of subjects.

Congratulations to President Christine Munro and her team.

Plate Inspired by Country painted by Anne Blake
Anne Blake's collection was called 'Inspired by Nature WA' depicting West Australian landscape, flora and fauna.

Shown is the plate 'Inspired by Country'.

The top of the plate illustrates features from the North both the Kimberley - golden sunset, boab tree; and the Pilbara - rocky cliff faces with the iconic Sturt Desert Peas.

A ribbon of green lustre separates the North from the South. The bottom half depicts flora and fauna from South of this vast state: gum leaves, grass trees, Redback spiders, various orchids and wildflowers. Redback Spider vase

The design ends on the shoreline of the Indian Ocean - all observed by a watchful emu!
